Sinergia Consortium Brain Communication Pathways

Dr. Maria Rubega

Maria Rubega was born in Arzignano (Vicenza, Italy) in 1989. She received a B.Sc. degree in Information Engineering in July 2011 and a M. Sc. Degree in Bioengineering in October 2013, both from the University of Padova (Padova, Italy). In February 2017, she obtained her Ph.D. in Bioengineering at the Department of Information Engineering at the University of Padova. She currently holds a postdoctoral position at the Department of Basic Neurosciences at the University of Geneva (Geneva, Switzerland). Her main research interests are related to the field of biomedical signal processing and include the quantitative analysis in the frequency, time-frequency and time domains of the EEG signal. Her current research projects include the quantification of high-density EEG time-varying connectivity in the source space, in particular:

  • Estimation of EEG source dipole orientation for connectivity analysis
  • Implementation of a constrained Kalman filter approach to inform dynamic functional connectivity with anatomical priors
  • Graph methods for the analysis of functional/effective connectivity matrices
